The “great commission” given by Jesus to the apostles at the end of the gospels isn’t for us today.
When Jesus said to the 11 in Mark 16:15: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”, he was not talking about the gospel of the grace of God that Paul preached. It was still a mystery hid in God.
Jesus was talking about the gospel of the kingdom. (The same gospel that when it will be preached in the whole world the end will come).
In the next verse (16) the Lord said: “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved”. Believes what? The gospel of the kingdom. So water baptism is connected with the gospel of the kingdom that shouldn’t be preached today.
When someone gets water baptized today in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, it’s not doing him any good because it’s under the wrong gospel. (I’ve been there. I got water baptized in 2015).
Paul says that today there is one baptism. It takes place when we believe the gospel of Christ, the gospel of the grace of God. We get baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:13)
